A first draft of the Touristic Network app, developed in QROWD, was successfully presented during the Demo Day on the 8th of July in the TomTom’s office in Berlin. The Demo Day is a site-event organized every three months. At the beginning of the event, every prototype’s idea is pitched to introduce them to all. This is followed by the demonstration of each prototype. The Demo Day is indeed always the opportunity to show the research results, to get feedbacks and to improve the concept and/or the technology presented by discussing it and exchanging ideas.

The demonstration of the Touristic Network drew the attention of approximately 15 TomTomers from multiple product units (Navigation, Traffic, Autonomous Driving, Maps). Amongst those interested colleagues, the most captivated ones were the good skiers as they are very well concerned by the app! As you already know, the app shows you the best ski resort option considering travel time to reach every resort and the available services there. The goal is indeed to foster the winter activity in better spreading visitors and citizens around the different ski resorts in Trentino in order to reduce traffic jams among the road network and improve the travel experience.
Discussing the development progress of the Touristic Network app with colleagues led to nice exchange of ideas and open new horizons, multiplying business cases’ ideas and indirectly the business value of the concept.
Our next goal is to present the entirely developed Touristic Network app in the coming Demo Day which should take place in September-October. This following Demo Day is expected to be even more successful as the app should be ready by then.
