This year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC2018), which took place in the city of Barcelona, featured more than 2,400 companies that showcased products and services at the cutting edge of innovation.
Key areas, such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), content and media, policy and regulation, and blockchain, focused the activity over the course of the event. Keynote sessions featured leaders from established industry start-ups, as well as representatives from governments and agencies.
The QROWD project itself was proud to have partner representatives at the event that provided dissemination. Giacomo Fioroni, from Comune di Trento, spoke with conference attendees about the project and its initiatives, and also about the city of Trento and its growing smart infrastructure.
Other conference highlights discussed by the community focused on championing industry diversity. The Women4Tech programme provided speech coaching, networking events, workshops, a live TV panel, and several activities at 4YFN.
Further highlights included immersive demonstrations of mobile enhanced products and services which allowed attendees to experience how mobile-products could improve everyday lives in the near future. The GSMA Innovation City in particular demonstrated how businesses around the world, focusing on a range of areas such as transport, health, utilities and agriculture, had impressive potential.
We would like to thank everyone who came to learn more about the QROWD project, and who talked to our industry partners. We look forward to seeing and meeting more of you at future events, and wish you all the best until the next MWC.
